AiM Medical Robotics is advancing the future of surgery through robotic technologies designed to improve precision, efficiency, and patient outcomes. By combining cutting-edge robotics with medical expertise, the company is helping redefine how complex procedures can be performed in the operating room. New York Angels Members made their third investment in the company. Tom Hirschfeld and Patrick Lambert led the deal on behalf of NYA Members.

New York Angels Members invested again in Kind Designs one year after they first invested. Over the past year, Kind Designs has been recognized as one of the Best Inventions of 2025 by Time Magazine, won the 2026 Luis Villalobos Award for Technology, and grown tremendously. After closing 2025 with $1 million in realized revenue, Kind Designs has already secured $7 million in booked revenue for 2026, along with a $2 million NAVSEA Phase grant to deploy Living Seawalls at a U.S. Navy base. Betsy Cohen, James Dooley, and Kit McQuiston led this follow-on round.

Anna Stepura, Co-Founder and CEO of Adlyse, first connected with a New York Angels member through a LinkedIn invitation to speak at New York Tech Week. That cold call later turned into investment from several NYA Members. Anna made her first successful exit in 2024. After that, she helped other companies, including YC startups, figure out what they needed to change in their products and growth strategies in order to create better exits and acquisitions. ATRAVERSE

Johnson & Johnson completed the acquisition of NYA Portfolio Company Atraverse on May 15, 2026. J&J acquired Atraverse and its FDA-cleared HOTWIRE Transseptal Access System to add to its cardiovascular and electrophysiology portfolios.

NYA MEMBER EVENT
NIBBLES AND NEGOTIATIONS

The NYA Member Engagement Team hosted Nibbles and Negotiations to practice maximizing negotiations. NYA Members used a simulation that put NYA Members in the roles of a VC or Founder to negotiate the price and terms of a Series A financing. The simulation was based on a very well-known case from the Harvard Program on Negotiation.

HOW STARS LEVERAGE THEMSELVES AS INVESTORS

At the Milken Institute Global Conference, celebrities including Serena Williams, Eva Longoria and Kevin Yorn shared their lessons learned as angel investors. This discussed how great founders build more than products, they build influence, relationships, and momentum. The discussion emphasized the value of founders who can attract talent, create strategic partnerships, and leverage their networks to drive long-term growth.
