New York Angels Members invested $8.5 million YTD

OCTOBER INVESTMENT HIGHLIGHTS

YourCoach.Health is an integrated management platform for the growing community of health and wellness coaches. YourCoach offers a unique human + AI infrastructure for scalable, high-quality health coaching.  The platform combines over 4,000 coaches with AI-driven 100% quality monitoring and outcomes tracking that drives measurable behavior change and recurring revenue.  A white-label version is also available to digital health companies, health plans, health systems, and employers. Tom Hirschfeld and Anne Friberg spoke with several YourCoach partners before closing this deal for NYA.

FOUNDER SPOTLIGHT

Kidas Founder and CEO Ron Kerbs started the company five years ago as an MBA student at The Wharton School. Ron spent most of his career in national defense, including being a captain In Israel Intelligence working on machine learning and AI projects.  This experience led him to building Kidas, an AI-powered gaming and online scam protection platform.  Ron shares how fundraising with New York Angels is “smart money”, the extensive support of the NYA network, and why he doesn’t believe in the 9-9-6 entrepreneurial work culture.

AiM Medical Robotics secured $8.1 Million in Series A Financing to fund its first-in-human clinical study, expand strategic partnerships, and accelerate product development and regulatory milestones.  AiM's groundbreaking neurosurgery system leverages real-time intraoperative MRI coupled with robotic guidance to ensure precise placement of neurostimulation leads for Parkinson’s disease patients.

Goldilock Secure has been named the Grand Winner of SLINGSHOT 2025 for its cybersecurity solution that allows users to disconnect parts of their network and protect themselves from cyberattacks. Nearly 7,000 start-ups from more than 150 markets competed in the Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology competition hosted by Enterprise Singapore.

MEMBRION

Membrion announced that it has closed its $20 million Series B1 funding round.  Membrion develops industrial wastewater treatment technology that allows businesses to treat and recycle large quantities of dirty water onsite, avoiding the costs and environmental impacts of trucking it away to be cleaned. It can also be used to recover valuable minerals from the water.

OSTEOBOOST

Osteoboost celebrated being named one of Time's Best Inventions of 2025. Osteoboost was recognized for advancing innovation in the treatment of osteoporosis, a disease impacting over 50 million Americans.  As the first FDA-cleared drug-free prescription treatment for osteopenia in postmenopausal women, Osteoboost showed that their vibrating belt worn around the hips consistently reduced spinal bone loss in study participants by 85%.

NYA MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Anthony Gellert joined New York Angels almost 10 years ago with a wealth of expertise in public market equity and startups.  As the Founder of Livingston Capital, Anthony is extremely involved in the New York early-stage ecosystem through investing, mentorship, and pro bono consulting.  Anthony shares why he would never recommend investing in a startup alone, why potential angel investors have to be serious about allocating capital, and how founders should leverage their cap table for introductions.

SEED FUNDING PICKS UP NATIONWIDE IN Q3 2025

Primary Venture Partners published its Q3 Seed Report showing a national increase in seed activity, with larger rounds and continued concentration in AI, healthcare, and fintech. New York’s seed market strengthened in Q3 2025. Deal volume rose 38% quarter over quarter, from 105 to 145 rounds, marking a clear rebound from Q2. Average round size increased from $4.3 million to $5.6 million, and 29% of deals fell in the $6-10 million range vs. 14% in Q2, indicating investors are taking higher-conviction bets.
