2022 has been a year full of ups and down for everyone, and it's been no different for New York Angels. We have had an exciting year working with founders from all over the world - some we have met for the very first time, some we've known for years, and some we have begun an incredible partnership with through investment. As we look back on this year, we have been so thrilled to meet with founders, members and other early-stage investors in person again. We want to wish you a wonderful holiday season and a happy 2023!

New York Angels members closed out the 2022 year with $21.4M in investments as one of our largest investment years in history.

In 2021, Murat Köprülü co-led with David Rose NYA members' investment in Pinktada, a blockchain-driven hotel booking marketplace for travelers. Pinktada recently raised another $975k from hospitality and Web3 investors. Following their Q2 launch, their membership grew 20% in August and 40% in September 2022. Pinktada members love the platform because it helps alleviate some of the stresses of finding and making hotel reservations through tokenization booking.

BASEPAWS
Basepaws was recently featured on Shark Tank Season 14 for Zoetis' acquisition of the company for $50 million earlier in 2022. In Basepaws' first appearance on the show in Season 10, Kevin O'Leary made a deal with founder Anna Skaya for her cat DNA test company Basepaws. Anna explains how the company grew revenue from $200k to $3.5m and the $50m deal they've made for the company to be acquired.

This Gameway lounge offers luxury gaming stations including 6 Xbox stations, 5 Playstation stations, and 4 PC stations - all with the newest games on each platform. This opening comes just in time for the holiday rush, when travelers can expect long lines, delays, and are already planning for extended time for trips.

ANGEL CAPITAL ASSOCIATION
Angel Funders Report 2022
Each year, the Angel Capital Association collects data from angel investors across NA and develops this report on the current state of early stage investing. ACA member groups invested approximately $950 million in 2021 in more than 1,000 companies and even more deals. New York Angels was highlighted as one of their most active angel investment groups.
